well, i guess this is actually part 2, but that first one doesn't really count. he came here to cook me dinner, and brooke and rob were here for safety.
out of sheer boredom and purely for entertainment value, i joined
plenty of fish a couple of weeks ago. amidst the oodles of my own friends on there, and the creepy 45 year old men looking for a hot, young piece of ass, i've actually met a few nice people. surprising, i know right?
so tonight, i met a guy. let's call him jim. we met at
shoeless joe's for a drink, and i had to talk myself out of getting out of my car (the picture above was me contemplating leaving). i don't like strangers, and i hate small talk. so when i walked in the bar and actually found jim sitting in a stool drinking a beer, i thought we were doing pretty good already.
we talked about movies: he likes science fiction, to which i responded, "i like science... and fiction." (cringe worthy, i know. i'm an idiot.) and i told him that i gave my roommate his whole name, in case he murdered me. we laughed, and i was semi-serious about it, but i don't think he is capable of murder. jim is a gentle giant. nice guy and he told me about his puppy. he's a landscaper i guess, so i told him to come garden in my backyard. i also explained that i don't cook, and we decided that he can make me dinner and garden, and i'll move furniture and paint. we also joked about all the sports going on in that bar, and the lonely little figure skating poster near the door.
all in all, not bad for my very first blind date. i think i'm slowly getting better at dating outside of my social circle. i talk too much i think, which is odd for someone who hates small talk. we'll see where this goes. for now, i'm going to keep fucking with old men on plenty of fish. it's entertaining.
